Jay Fulmer, DVM
Dr. Jay Fulmer is a 1994 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. He enjoys working with small animals and has served as a veterinarian in the Lawrenceville/Buford/Dacula area since 1996. Dr. Fulmer is originally from Summerville, SC, but he has lived in Gwinnett County since 1988. He has been happily married to his wife, Beth, for 25 years. They have two sons: one is a student at Clemson University and the other attends Mountain View High School. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Fulmer is an active member of Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church, enjoys running and training for marathons, and is an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.
Amy Flowers, DVM
Dr. Flowers earned her Bachelor of Science and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia. Her special interests include geriatric medicine and soft tissue surgery. She has worked with Dr. Fulmer for almost 15 years. She lives in Dacula with her husband of 16 years and their two sons. When not at work she is busy supporting her sons in karate, horseback riding and Cub Scouts. They share their home (and hearts) with four dogs, two guinea pigs and a fish.
Vanesa Farmer, DVM
Dr. Farmer earned her Bachelor of Science at The University of Georgia and then went on to earn her Doctorate at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Farmer’s interests include dermatology and soft tissue surgery. When she is not working, she enjoys travel, hiking, and spending time with her husband and fur family.
Kim Hankamer, DVM
Dr. Hankamer attended The University Of Florida in Gainesville where she earned a Bachelor of Science and Doctorate degrees. Originally from Miami, Florida she moved to Atlanta after graduating college. In her spare time, Dr. Hankamer enjoys traveling with her husband, Bob, and spending time with family.
Kathleen Claussen, DVM
Dr. Kathleen Claussen is a 2000 graduate of Kansas State University. Dr. Claussen is originally from the south Kansas City area, having practiced there for 17 years before relocating to Georgia. She lives in the Flowery Branch area with her husband, Verne, and cat, Meow. In her spare time, Dr. Claussen enjoys traveling the world, photography, and Kansas State football (Go Wildcats!).
Marcy Simon, DVM
Dr. Marcy Simon is a 1994 graduate of N.C. State College of Veterinary Medicine. She moved to the Athens, GA area 4 years ago. Dr. Simon has a special interest in feline medicine. She and her husband, Ben, have two children, a son at Georgia Tech, and a daughter who lives in Asheville, NC. They share their home with their 16-year-old cat, Patrick, and 6-year-old Aussie, Sheila. Dr. Simon enjoys reading, group exercise classes at the YMCA, and hiking.
Beth Fulmer works as a bookkeeper for the practice. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Master of Public Administration degree in 1991. She has been happily married to her husband, Dr. Jay Fulmer, for 25 years, and loves being a mom to their two sons: Andrew and Stephen. Beth also is an active member of Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church and enjoys travel, photography and being outdoors in her free time.
Ben is a 2002 graduate of Gwinnett Technical College with a degree as a registered technician. Ben has worked with Dr. Fulmer and Dr. Flowers since he graduated. He lives in Barrow county with his wife of 16 years and their 3 children. Ben stays busy watching his kids play baseball, softball, and basketball and he is an avid Braves fan.

Jennifer was born and raised in Gwinnett. She grew up with a variety of pets-hamsters, mice, snakes, and lizards. She graduated Georgia Gwinnett College with a Bachelors in Biology. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys camping, hiking, reading, and baking. She also enjoys spending time with her two Chihuahuas, Snickers and Gummie Bear.
Jessica was born in Savannah but has lived in Gwinnett county the majority of her life. She has always known she had a passion for animals and wanted to be part of the veterinary field. She is currently finishing a Bachelor’s degree in Biology at The University of North Georgia and is interested in attending Vet school in the future. Outside of school and Veterinary medicine, Jessica enjoys camping with her boyfriend and her two boxers, Ruby and Scarlett, as well as cooking and spending time with family.
Ashley was born in Massachusetts and raised in Georgia. She has worked at Hamilton Mill Animal Hospital since 2017 and is pursuing her Veterinary Technician degree from Gwinnett Technical College.
Kristen has lived in Buford, GA her entire life! She graduated from Animal Behavior College with a degree as a Veterinary Assistant. She has 2 dogs named Duke and Bo and she enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Lyndsey has worked in the veterinary field since she was in high school. She is currently enrolled in the Penn Foster program to obtain her degree as a veterinary technician. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her dogs, Piper and Toby. She has always loved animals and enjoys working at Hamilton Mill Animal Hospital because she says “It is rewarding and teaches her something new everyday
Jenny was born in Tennessee and raised in Georgia. She lives in the Hamilton Mill area with her husband Craig and their 3 dogs Flo,Maggie,and Red. Jenny graduated from Lanier Technical college with a surgical tech degree and has been in the medical field since 2008. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, sailing and watching lots of football and basketball.
Stacey has found that working with animals has made a mundane life very exciting and she says working for Hamilton Mill is very fulfilling. Outside of work, Stacey enjoys binge watching Disney movies with her four legged sons, Jackson and Copper, and hiking with her two legged significant other, John.
Brianna was born and raised in Georgia. She had a huge passion for animals. She is currently studying astrology and has a perfect, beautiful baby girl, named Marley, who makes her world go round.
Jessica was born in Gwinnett County and has lived here her whole life. She is starting college at the University of North Georgia in the spring of 2019 and plans on being in the animal field, but she is not sure what she would like to study yet. She has always been passionate about animals. Jessica grew up on a farm and has always been around dogs. She has 3 dogs; Marley, Sadie, and Beau. And, she also has 1 cat, Nadine.
